Sebastian joined CIL as a partner in 1999. He leads our construction and building products practice and also supports our technology, business services, and financial services practices. Sebastian works with a broad range of companies across the construction sector, from products and merchants, to design and technology, to contractors and developers to repair and maintenance. He also works with a wide range of private equity clients and debt providers, including Ares, Baird, Beechbrook, Deutsch, ECI, Equistone, HSBC, Inflexion, LDC, Livingbridge, Lloyds, MML, NorthEdge, Palatine, Phoenix and RBS.Sebastian started his career with PwC, spending five years with their London financial services group. Before joining CIL, Sebastian was a director at Door Panels Plc, where he designed and implemented a turnaround programme returning the company to profitability. Sebastian is a Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts corporate finance faculty. He has a BA in Economics from Manchester University.Sebastian chairs Firefly International, a charity which supports locally-led education and arts projects in conflict-affected countries. He is also a keen walker and planter of trees.

Martin leads our energy, utilities and natural resources practice and also works extensively in food and drink and industrial products and services. He works with corporate clients (e.g. Cape plc and Intertek) and supports many mid-market private equity firms on transactions.
Martin has worked as a management consultant since 1995, when he joined Burlington Consultants and where he became a partner of the firm. He joined CIL in 2007 as a partner. Prior to consulting Martin worked in sales, marketing and operations within the food industry. He has an MBA from Cranfield and an MA in Classics from Oxford University.
Outside of work, Martin has a private pilots licence and has piloted single engine planes from the UK to South America and around Africa. He tries not to mix this pastime with his passion for wine and keeps fit by periodically cycling long distances across Europe.

Tabitha leads our media practice and joined CIL in 2017.
Tabitha is a specialist in media strategy and business development helping players across the value chain address the strategic and financial challenges of convergence. Her work covers strategic, financial, regulatory and operational issues with particular focus on production, broadcasting, pay TV, digital media, changing consumer behaviour, advertising dynamics and PSB issues
Prior to joining CIL, Tabitha co-founded Prospero, a specialist consultancy advising media companies on strategy, business development and policy.
Previously, Tabitha was part of the team who founded media and telecoms consultancy Spectrum and built it into a major player with offices in seven countries. She led the global media practice for ten years.
Tabitha’s media clients include : Arqiva, the BBC, Channel 4, Discovery, Ericsson, Freesat, Freeview, ITV, NBC Universal, Ofcom, Pact, Pearson, the RadioCentre, Turner and Viacom. Her private equity clients have included: Permira, Goldman Sachs and Vitruvian.
Tabitha has a BA Hons in English from Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD.
Tabitha is a trustee of Fine Cell Work, which trains prisoners in textiles and is a patron of Ace Africa, which works on HIV / AIDS related issues in East Africa. She is a keen walker and an opera enthusiast.

Tom joined CIL in 2004 and leads our technology practice. His work includes advising investors and management teams on infrastructure and applications service providers and technology-enabled businesses. Tom also has extensive experience in business services and health, care and education. Tom works with banks, corporates and private equity houses such as Equistone, Vitruvian, Antin, Livingbridge and LDC.
Prior to CIL, Tom managed an events hire business and worked in online learning. Tom holds a BSc in Economics and Politics from the University of Southampton.
Tom enjoys spending time with his young family, current affairs, football (watching more than playing these days) and kettlebell fitness. Tom has travelled extensively, and aims to see as much of the world as he can.

Giles is a partner at CIL and has been with the firm since 1996. He has led our health, care and education practice for 10 years. Sub-sectors he has covered include acute hospitals, community health services, social and elderly care, children’s care and education, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, consumables and support services such as staffing, IT and informatics (including e-learning). Clients include Warburg Pincus, August Equity, Teacher’s Private Capital, National Australia Bank, Acorn Care & Education, and EMIS Plc.
Giles has a BA in politics from Bristol University and worked in publishing and marketing before joining CIL. He lives in Bath with his family where his wife is a GP. He is an ECB qualified cricket coach, coaches kids’ cricket at his local club and still plays as much as he can.

Alex joined CIL in 2003 and leads our financial services and business and support services practices. Sub-sectors he has covered within financial services include insurance underwriting, distribution and technology, wealth management and retail financial products distribution and technology. Within business services Alex has covered professional services, human capital, BPO, property services, logistics, document management and marketing services. Private Equity clients include Vitruvian, Livingbridge, Inflexion, ECI and Dunedin.
Before joining CIL, Alex was a consultant with specialist financial services strategy consultancy First Consulting, where he conducted strategy and organisational reviews for a number of blue-chip financial services organisations in both the UK and Europe. Alex has an MA from Trinity College, Cambridge in languages.
Alex is a keen musician, having been a choral scholar at Trinity. He also sings with the Holst Singers in London (but not so much these days). He lives with his wife and three daughters in East Sussex and occasionally joins Martin Bean on the odd charity cycle ride.

Laura is our Finance Partner. Laura joined CIL in 2000 as a consultant, she has since transferred into our finance department, which she has led since 2003.
Laura started her career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining CIL, she also worked for American Express, Smith & Williamson and Ernst & Young. She has a BSc in Accounting with Data Processing from the University of Leeds.
Outside of CIL, Laura enjoys long walks with her dogs and is the treasurer of her local Scout Group.

Jon joined CIL in 2007 and leads our industrial products and services practice. He has provided acquisition and growth strategy support for a range of investors and management teams. Alongside serving many UK clients, Jon’s work has been heavily international, providing support for US and European private equity firms as well as multinational corporations. He also has strong relationships with leading banks and corporate finance houses.Jon brings a wealth of operational experience from his time in industry. He started his career in the packaging industry with Fortune 500 company, Crown Holdings Inc. (manufacturing and NPD in UK and Thailand), Jon then worked with Diageo (sales and business insight) before joining CIL. Jon has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester University (UMIST).Jon lives with his wife and three daughters in Surrey where he plays football and tennis while he escapes to more remote areas to go bivouacking in the great British wilderness.

Liam joined CIL in 2007 and leads our consumer, retail and leisure practice. He has substantial experience in the sector, with particular expertise in consumer products and travel and tourism. Recent clients include businesses in beauty products, holiday parks, toy manufacturing, hair and beauty salons, sports nutrition and fitness training.
Liam has a first class degree BA in Business Administration from Bath University. During university, he helped run his family’s pub and nightclub business in the south west of England.
Liam is a keen sportsman with representative honours in basketball and football. He currently competes in national and international CrossFit competitions.

Anthony joined CIL in 2012 and works alongside Tom Fletcher in CIL’s technology practice. He also has particular experience in energy & utility services. Prior to joining CIL, Anthony worked as a teacher of Latin, Greek and Classical Civilisation at Haileybury School, and was a full-time fencer, winning double gold in the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
Anthony holds an MA in Classics and Management Studies from the University of Cambridge and is a Prince2 certified project manager. He is currently a non-executive Director of England Fencing and a consulting mentor for a social-impact charity in Africa. Outside of these pursuits you can find Anthony engaging in various other sports and attending music events.

James de La Salle
James de La Salle
James joined CIL in 2012 and works alongside Sebastian Chambers in the construction and building products practice. His thoughts on the sector have been published in both major papers and trade press. He also has significant experience in business services, particularly legal services.
Previously, James worked in corporate communications for Google and Coca-Cola before joining strategic management at the Parabis Group and working sell-side throughout its 2012 buyout: the first private equity investment in a UK law firm. He holds a BA in English Literature from Durham University.
James enjoys team sports, distance running and continues to read broadly when time allows.
Tim joined CIL in 2016 and works alongside Jon Whiteman in the Industrial products and services practice. He has led or worked on projects across industrials, distribution, transport, energy, defence and government.
Previously, Tim worked for LEK Consulting and in KPMG’s modelling practice. Has has also worked in industry, at Babcock International, focussing on M&A and International market analysis.
Tim holds a M.Eng degree from St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge and is an Associate Member of the IMechE.
Outside work, Tim has a young son who keeps him busy and gets outside running from time to time. He is also lapsed rower.

Scott joined CIL in 2015 and supports Liam McGuinness in CIL’s consumer, retail and leisure practice. He also has strong experience in business services. Prior to joining, he was a Manager at Cognosis Consulting, a boutique strategy consultancy serving blue chip consumer brands. He started his career in the Strategy and Transformation team at Capgemini.
Scott has broad consumer experience but has a particular focus in FMCG and leisure. Previous major clients include: Intercontinental Hotels, Pernod Ricard, Tesco and Innocent Drinks, as well as a variety of private equity backed mid market businesses.
Scott holds a BSc in Business Management from the University of Manchester. In his spare time he is a keen sportsman and gym goer.

Rebecca joined CIL in 2010 and works alongside Alex Marshall in CIL’s business services practice. She has particular expertise in BPO / BPA, pharma services and technology. Rebecca most enjoys gaining insight into complex businesses and industries.
Prior to joining CIL, Rebecca worked for the European Commission. She was also a reporter for the EMAP publication, MEED Magazine, covering a range of topics including real estate, telecoms and middle eastern investment trends. She has an MA in Modern and Medieval Languages from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge.
Rebecca is a watersports fanatic, and aims to spend her weekends perfecting her wave windsurfing technique or sailing the south coast of England.

Agnes joined CIL in 2015 and focusses on projects in education and healthcare. Prior to joining, she was an Associate Director at Pragma Consulting, where she helped run the Strategy division. She has previously held roles in e-commerce and digital marketing at luxury retailer Louis Vuitton, and in Transaction Services at PwC.
Agnes holds an MSc in International Business from the University of Birmingham and a first-class BA in Politics. Agnes lives in Bath and takes an active role supporting charities and social enterprises as a mentor and volunteer to help them increase their social impact. She is a mum and a keen long distance runner.

Dom is chairman at CIL. He spent eight years in the Royal Marines, before founding Moorhouse Consulting. He sold it in 2008 to BT and is now a business advisor, author, angel investor and entrepreneur.
Dom has a first-class computing degree, a first-class PPE degree, an MBA and programme management accreditation (PMP, Prince2, MSP). He is a Chartered Director (IoD) and a Fellow of both the Institute of Management Consultancy (CMC qualified) and the Association of Project Management (APM).
Dom lives in Bath, England. Outside of work, he shares the demands, with his wife Roz, of parenting three very active children. With what little residual time there is remaining, Dom paraglides (badly) and supports the Mountain Way Charity (support to military veterans struggling with PTSD).
