We are recruiting now for talented, hardworking people at all stages in their careers. Regardless of whether you are looking to join us from another leading consultancy, transition from another industry or graduating from a leading business school, we can offer you interesting engagements, rapid progression and impressive career development opportunities.

What you will do

Where you join will depend on your experience and will be considered during the recruitment process.

Broadly our structure is:

The partners and directors typically lead projects, while consultants manage the day-to-day operations. Analysts have early responsibility within the teams, working with consultants to generate and analyse primary and secondary research, and create client-ready reports.

Career progression at CIL is based on individual achievement and can be rapid. Most of the senior team at CIL started as either analysts or consultants, and we actively mentor our staff towards promotion through frequent, structured and detailed feedback.

What it's like to work at CIL

We are supportive, non-hierarchical, hard-working, unpretentious and direct. We don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Although we work in structured project teams, we are socially very equal, lively and inclusive. There are no corner offices, no private fiefdoms, no cliques – we work in open-plan offices and are not political. We think a ‘culture’ is something larger firms have to invent. Ours is the product of the individuals we employ.

We believe the most driven and bright consultants can only thrive while maintaining healthy work-life balances. This is why we actively encourage our people to pursue activities outside of work – our team contains marathon runners, artists, hockey players, a Commonwealth gold medallist, Crossfit athletes and musicians to just list but a few.

  • A high quality training programme delivered within a hugely supportive learning environment. This includes:
    – Structured training modules to take you through to partner, delivered by a combination of experienced CIL colleagues and leading external providers
    – Unrivalled on-the-job support from your colleagues, including the partners and directors
    – Opportunity to take the CIMA exams within your first 18 months
  • Rapid progression and career development opportunities.
  • Competitive remuneration.
  • 25 days of paid time off with option to take an additional five days
  • Company pension and healthcare programs.
  • Regular company events and socials.
  • A healthy work/life balance and support to pursue activities & interests outside of work.
Our offices

“Our London office is located in The City, between Bank and St Paul’s. The office is open plan and there’s always a real buzz about the place. Socially, everyone enjoys each other’s company (I think it quite unique to go to work with your friends every day) and beyond meeting up of our own volition, CIL puts on a number of social events throughout the year. We are also encouraged to keep hobbies and activities going, so everyone has the opportunity to do their own thing too.”
Anthony, associate director, London office.

“I like that I can work as a management consultant without having to live in London. Sailing is a passion of mine and working in CIL’s south west office means I can get out on the water regularly. I’m within easy access of the vibrant city of Bath but also have the opportunity to enjoy the countryside and all it has to offer. The open plan nature of the office means we all have fun while working together. Of course, I’m often in London for client meetings and we work as one across the two offices.” Laurence, senior consultant, Frome office.
